Iori Igarashi est radiographe. Il est fier de son travail et il est aussi sincère. Il a été reconnu pour son travail aux États-Unis et il est maintenant de retour au Japon. An Amakasu est aussi radiologue. Son père est l'ancien directeur de l'hôpital. Elle veut aider les patients, mais elle accorde la priorité aux règles administratives et au bon fonctionnement de l'hôpital. An Amakasu manque de confiance en elle.

Igarashi often gets fired because he doesn't seem to understand people's feelings. This brings him to work in a new hospital, Amakasu General Hospital. He meets Mr. Kikujima, a world renowned photographer, and tries to find the cause for his severe headaches when everyone else believes it's the rupture of an aneurysm. He also meets his childhood friend, Amakasu An who stood up for him when he was bullied during his childhood.

Fujimoto Naoki is found dead by his younger brother, Yuta, and the hospital wants to perform Ai (Autopsy Imaging) to determine the real cause of death. After performing Ai, Igarashi detects abnormalities in Naoki's liver and believes the cause of death to be an unusual one. The story takes an unexpected turn and it brings Naoki's stepfather, Mr. Fujimoto, to realise the truth that he never knew. Amakasu on the other hand, begins to consult Igarashi in diagnosing the images.

Amakasu wants to perform IVR for Sari, a girl who is admitted to the hospital with blood vessel leakage in her liver. Dr. Kaburagi insists on performing laparotomy which would leave a scar on her body. Amakasu feels hopeless because she lacks experience in the treatment and has to give in to Dr. Kaburagi's decision. When another patient is admitted into the hospital and requires the same treatment, the radiology team teams up with Amakasu and performs the impossible.

Onodera finds out about Igarashi's true identity and helps to keep it a secret, but the secret is leaked as well.
