La MTM Bimoto (basée sur une Audi TT) et l'AS One, deux voitures allemandes tentent de réaliser le tour le plus rapide sur la piste et il y a le nouveau Range Rover, la Lotus Esprit d'origine et la TVR T350C. Ceux qui n'ont pas pu participer à la première course se sont réunis pour la deuxième partie de "The Fastest Faith".

Dans la quête apparemment sans fin de détruire autant de caravanes que possible, Richard utilise un dragster pour en débarrasser les routes britanniques. Une Nissan Sunny (la voiture que Richard déteste le plus au monde) est également détruite de la même manière. James May fait sa première apparition sur le "nouveau" top Gear : il nous montre sa Bentley T2 et nous explique pourquoi c'est un cauchemar à posséder. Richard conduit le Bowler Wildcat et se déclare : "un dieu de la conduite !". La Smart Roadster et la McLaren F1 sont également présentées. Vinnie Jones est la star dans une voiture petit budget.

Jérémy conduit la nouvelle Rolls Royce et il y a un regard nostalgique sur la Rover P5, notamment celle appartenant à la reine. Jamie Oliver tente sa chance dans la Suzuki Liana en tant que star dans une voiture petit budget, il essaie également de préparer une salade dans son camping-car, tout en étant conduit sur la piste par le Stig. Sur la piste, des politiciens représentant les principaux partis politiques, ainsi que certains partis moins bien établis tentent de devenir le parti politique le plus rapide dans une course de rallye.

Richard conduira la Lexus SC430 et Jeremy la Volkswagen Touareg et se demandera si elle vaut vraiment 50 000 £. Une Jaguar XJS recevra une petite augmentation de puissance grâce à un kit nitros et James conduira la Perodua Kelisa. Enfin, Jérémy conduira la BMW Z8 Alpina, une voiture qui souffre du fait que Ronan Keating en possède une.

Également sur l'île de Man, trois cabriolets sportifs seront conduits et les gars se chamailleront pour savoir laquelle est la meilleure : la BMW Z4 sera conduite par Richard, la Porsche Boxster par James et la Honda S2000 par Jérémy. Un nouveau Stig sera introduit et Stephen Fry sera la star dans une voiture petit budget.

La Bentley Continental GT sera emmenée pour une promenade tranquille à travers le Devon par Jérémy, tandis que James conduira la nouvelle Subaru Legacy. Richard essaiera de ne pas se noyer à bord d'une Vauxhall Carlton plongée dans un énorme réservoir d'eau. Le but sera de simuler un accident de voiture finissant d'ans l'eau. REVIEWS: Mazda RX-8 • Fiat Panda CHALLENGE: Is a Toyota Hilux really indestructible? Jeremy drives the Mazda RX8 and James drives the new Fiat Panda and is quite surprised when it doesn’t fall to bits. Richard looks at some modern classics, the Volkswagen Corrado VR6 and the Mercedes 190E 2.5 16 Cosworth. An 11-year-old diesel Toyota Hilux is tested for its durability by Jeremy. He drives in into a wall, a tree and through a shed. It’s left in the Severn Estuary, home to the second biggest tide in the world, hit with a wrecking ball, dropped and set on fire. They even drop a caravan on top of it, but still it works. Sadly, the same treatment wasn't given to this week's Star in a Reasonably Priced Car, Simon Cowell.

Back at the Top Gear track, Jeremy is trying to tell the difference between the old Porsche 911 Carrera and the new Porsche 911 Carrera S. That could be the least of Jeremy’s worries, in the last series after looking at the prototype of the new Astra, he said he would eat his own hair if the car actually looked like the prototype when it was launched. With a guest appearance from chef Antony Worrall Thompson in the studio, things aren’t looking good for Jeremy. Richard drove the new, 218mph, £400,000 Pagani Zonda Roadster in Switzerland, one of only 40 that will be built. He compared it to the Wally 118 - a £14 million pound boat made of lightweight material such as carbon fibre. There's a game of Caravan Conkers between Richard and James; they also spent 24 hours in a Smart car. This was because the makers described the interior of the car as 'lounge concept'. Unable to leave the car, they relied on passers-by to get them things such as: tea, pasties and newspapers. They spent the night parked in the Screaming Woods in Pluckley, the 'most haunted village in England'.The village 'boasts' 12 ghosts including: the Highwayman, the Screaming Man and a monk. In their quest to prove that cars can be more popular than traditional art, the presenters set themselves the challenge of attracting more visitors to their exhibition than will visit a more traditional gallery over the same period, a task that forces them to engage in some unusual promotional activities.
